Day 49

Steady 5K (3.19 miles) today with KP after a day in school.

 Weather was absolutely incredible today, boiling hot out there so managed to get out on the field with the kids in school which was great.

 I am now in the process of preparing for the potential return of Year 6 pupils on the 1st of June and delivering home learning, which is very interesting for my practical subject of PE, we are planning some activities that pupils can do from home. It really is an interesting time for education and I feel that this current situations is going to have lasting effects on how education is going to work.

 Very close to the 600 mile mark now which is great!

My story My name is Ed Spalding and I am the Bromsgrove 1st XV captain. We all find ourselves in a very challenging situation. First and foremost make sure you are staying safe in these unprecedented times. I have been a part of Bromsgrove Rugby Football club for 6 years and it has become a hugely important part of my life. These are incredibly difficult times for our club and lots of other rugby clubs all over the country. The immediate effect on BRFC is that we are unable to open for the foreseeable future which is going to have huge financial implications for the club. Therefore I have decided to start a cycling and running challenge to raise money for BRFC and our amazing NHS over the next 4 months. I will be aiming to cover the distance between BRFC's home ground Finstall Park and The Stade de France, the venue for the 2023 Rugby World Cup Final. I will be starting my challenge on the 1st April, aiming to finish by the 1st August, the distance is 810 miles in total...

Day 35

HALF WAY MARK! I ran 7.42 miles today which takes me over the half way mark. I have run or cycled for an hour for 35 consecutive days so effectively covered 406.35 miles in 35 hours with a total of 403.65 miles to complete my challenge! I have really enjoyed the challenge, it has given me a good focus in these crazy times, my running has really improved and I feel much more comfortable running now and have even enjoyed it which I never thought I would say. The cycling gives me a good opportunity to switch off and get some miles done! Thanks so much for all the support with my challenge so far, it has been absolutely incredible. Day 25

7.26 miles on foot this morning which takes me past the 300 mile mark in 25 days (25 hours) of running or cycling. Really pleased with how the running is going and the challenge in general has been really enjoyable so far. I have completed 302 miles meaning I have 508 to go, so still a big distance to cover, but looking forward to knocking some more miles off.
